Midwest’s Largest Junior Sailing Event Takes Place July 4th Weekend
DETROIT, MI (April 10, 2008) - With the Midwest finally free of the this winter’s record snowfall, Junior Sailors are getting psyched for the events they will sail this season. Detroit’s Bayview Yacht Club, the region’s recognized leader in Junior Sailing, is excited to welcome hundreds of these youngsters to the biggest event of the year on July 4th, 5th, and 6th – the fifth annual Toyota Bayview Riverfest and Junior Olympic Festival.
“We have more fun at Riverfest than at any other regatta Bayview hosts,” says Marc Hollerbach, Regatta Chairman. “Hosting the region’s future sailing stars is a tradition at BYC, and a privilege that we’re fortunate to have, now and for the foreseeable future.” Bayview Riverfest Regatta welcomes all sailors between 8 and 18 years of age to compete on the following courses: Laser, Laser Radial, 420, Optimist RBW, and Optimist Green.
