"Sailing. It's who we are. It's what we do."

Located on the Detroit River since 1915, Bayview Yacht Club is a premier Great Lakes sailing club, hosting the annual Bayview Mackinac Race and local sailing events including racing, a junior program and adult classes.

Our 900 Members share an active sailing schedule spring through fall as well as social activities year-round including seminars, wine dinners and other special events. The newly renovated Clubhouse offers unparalleled views of the Detroit River and Skyline, hosting guests for after-racing refreshments during sailing season and brunch, lunch and dinner throughout the year. During the winter months members are drawn to the roaring natural fireplace, trap shooting over the river and even pick-up hockey games. With event space for 250 and small rooms for meetings, the Clubhouse is increasingly a draw for corporate, philanthropic and social events as well.

Historically Bayview members have been active racing sailors, and the majority of the Membership still sails, supports the sport through race committee work and volunteers in other ways.

New to Sailing?

Bayview also now offers a “Supporting Membership” category for people new to sailing or looking to support the Club through dining and events. The Club remains one of the most affordable and accessible private Clubs in the Detroit area while offering world-class facilities and amenities.
